sweet crib

On Monday Rob had his 2nd round of tests, and then had the rest of the day off. We drove to Manchester, 1 hour and 12 minutes away (which is where the nearest Babies R Us is...) to pick up our beautiful baby crib.
We had no idea the box would be so stinkin' big! It wouldn't even fit in our car. We didn't want to spend the $ to go rent a U-haul, and we figured driving over an hour back home with it strapped on top wouldn't be the smartest thing to do...
So we unwrapped it right then and there and loaded the pieces in our car.

We were so excited to be bringing home our baby's crib!
You'd think we already had a baby to put inside!
Rob assembled the fine piece of furniture with a bit of help from me...
But mostly I just watched. Even after it was all put together I just laid there and stared at it. I think it's so beautiful... A beautiful crib for a beautiful baby.
No mattress yet, and no bedding yet, and no baby yet....

I remember getting the crib for our first baby boy. It was such a permanent fixture - made it seem so much more real. I envy you, a little bit, for this really fun phase of life you're about to begin.

I won't envy you at three in the morning when your sweet babe has a blowout that ends up on the walls. And trust me, it will.

OH man...i LOVE your crib! I love the color and the style!! Good pick! Yeah those things are huge! I remember getting jack's crib and we had just moved to ohio and luckily my visiting teacher had a minivan and was home when we realized how big it was! (she was pretty much the only person we knew in ohio) so yes, i feel your pain! :)
