As I was packing today I got a little sad thinking about saying goodbye to our house. We're beginning to pack it all up, so I thought I'd better say goodbye to the things I love the most before the walls are bare and the furniture is loaded into the moving truck.
We love our little home. It's been so good to us.
We love the big, bright windows.
We love the dish washer for sure.
We love the front porch.
We love the new carpet.
We love our washer & dryer room even though it gets messy.
We love the fresh coat of paint.
Our tummies love our full size oven.
We love all the extra storage space.
All of which we didn't have at our first tiny apartment.
We'll miss you little house!!
We might even miss the swamp cooler that smells like a dead fish.
And the low water pressure in the shower.
And the lovely linoleum in the kitchen.
Okay, maybe we won't miss it all.
But most of it, we totally will.

It's always hard to move on to different things. You will learn to love your new home and your next stage of life. Most changes are hard, but well worth it. Good luck. I'm glad we will be able to keep in touch.
Just reading your blog makes me nestalgic for our old home. It may have had it's corks, but we made sooooo many happy memories there. I'll always love our first home though I love where I am now too (except today because I spent the day pulling up carpet after my basement flooded). :-) Love you Melis!
