moving in

Although our initial plans were to move into our new home on the 1st of September, our prayers were answered and our home was ready a whole week early! So last Friday I sadly said goodbye to Dalene & Zoey, but happily flew to New Hampshire to meet Rob.
First impression: Beautiful.
Clarification: This is not a picture of our home... it's the Dock House on Campus.

We had a great group of guys show up from the Elders Quorum to help us unpack the truck. We couldn't have done it without them!So here is our home at 10:00 am on Saturday.
And here it is at 2:00 pm on Saturday. Tons of progress, I know! Things were actually going really well... until the flood of '08 happened.
That's right. The Flood. We must have got something wrong when we set up our washer & dryer, because about 20 minutes into our first cycle, water began gushing out the back of it. What did I do? Did I panic? I think that would be an understatement.

Rob had just left to... now that I think about it, I'm not sure why he left me alone to unpack so many boxes... but I was alone when the water began gushing out. I just happened to open a box that contained all of my clean, white bath towels (pure luck) and threw them on the floor. I called Rob and he came back (from wherever he was...) and we called the emergency number for our housing complex. Welcome to Sachem Village!
Here we have Bruce 1, Bruce 2, Tiger, & Dave vaccuming up the flood water. They were so nice, as embarassed as I was, and didn't make us feel stupid at all. No really, they were so great.
This is me during the clean-up session.
My baby was feeling the same way I'm sure of it.
Here are my no longer clean, white bath towels drying outside.
Rob spent the rest of the day figuring out what went wrong with the washer.
Where is Grandpa Ed when you need him?!?
Rob did such a great job problem solving.
Now you see him...
Now you don't...Magic!

Since the flood of '08, everything has been great. We've pretty much unpacked everything I spent all summer packing. We miss a lot about Utah, but we really do love it here.
This is my future house by the way. What did I tell you? Beautiful.Thank for all your thoughts and calls during the past little while. Both our cell phones will be turned off this weekend for good... so if you didn't get our new home phone number, let me know and I'll send it your way. Come visit us in New Hampshire... before it gets too cold!

Of course. Why wouldn't there be a big mess when you're trying to move in?! I'm glad you had the towels right there and the water didn't ruin any boxes! That's terrible! Glad everything got fixed. From what I can see, the house looks cute! Can't wait to see more pictures!
