Baby Acne.
As darling as my M is, her poor little face has got a case of acne.
The doctor says it's normal, the book says it's normal, Grandma says it's normal, aunties say it's normal... but mommy doesn't like it!
Do you have any tricks to make it go away?
What makes it worse?
What makes it better?

This is a really good question... and I wish I had an answer for you! Neither of my kids got baby acne... at least not for more than a few days and it was very minimal. From what I've heard it's one of those things that you don't mess with. Just wash her face like you would any other day and her sweet little skin will quickly learn to balance out. The outside world is a much harsher place than where she's spent the last nine months. :-)
Just don't pick at it! I did once and it left a little scar for awhile. It will go away soon and will be a distant memory!
It's completely normal. Unfortunately it has to happen. I know you want to show off your babe. Don't worry it will go away soon.

Don't pick it for sure. I would take a warm wash cloth and use as a compress. She might hate that so it might not work. But that's what I would try. Other than that, I'd let it be. And then sing "let it be" by the Beatles and don't worry. But I can't be in the business of dispensing mom advice since my baby ain't even born yet. You should be giving me advice, cuz!
we would just take warm rags and delila liked it cause it was warm.
Grace had it too...apparently it is our fault that our babies have acne because it is from the momma's hormones. I just had to wait it out. Like everyone said wash her face gently with warm water. I wanted to pick at Grace's face sooo bad!! I feel your pain!
Lots of babies get this (a few of mine did) and there's really nothing to do but ignore it. And it by no means diminishes your baby's gorgeous factor. Bring her here and give it a test.
Am I the only bad mommy out there that actually put sensitive skin Clearasil on her baby...or the only one that will admit it? ;) I seriously put this on Ian's face twice when it just got out of hand. It cleared up and he didn't react to it at all. I am by no means suggesting you apply this to Maya.
This is crazy, my cat has chin acne and that's what I put on the cat too!
I know how you feel, I hated it when Jacob got it because he didn't look as cute. About the binky, if you feel good about it then it's a good thing. Don't worry about what others will think.
So I hadn't read your blog in a few weeks, it was fun to catch up, sounds like mommy life is good, so glad to hear it, it was definitey killer for me the first little bit. And Maya is a cutie!
This recipe has worked AMAZING for our little Kylee:
wash her hair and face with dandruff shampoo- careful not to get it in her eyes...definitely not tear free!
Then at night put Aquaphor on her face nice and thick. You can buy the stuff in a tube in the baby section. It also works great for her little bum.
It should clear it up in a few days.
